COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Community Engagement

Active engagement initiatives in our local community are an integral part of life in Ardscoil Phádraig. Students are encouraged to become involved in and support various groups in their efforts to enhance the local area and raise funds for a variety of charitable organisations. Each year students and staff take part in our annual Longford Parkrun event, organise a Team Hope Christmas Shoe Box Appeal, give of their time to create Christmas food hampers which are donated to our local St Vincent de Paul and actively assist our local Tidy Towns committee in their efforts to maintain our local environment.

Students also organise a number of fundraising initiatives each year in support of charities such as the Irish Cancer Society, Temple Street Children’s Hospital, Pieta House and World Autism Awareness Day. The promotion of community engagement in our school allows our students to enhance their awareness of various aspects of the society in which we live, allowing them to become active local citizens in their local areas, both during their time in Ardscoil Phádraig and in their future lives.
