School Notes – Friday 2nd November, 2018

Senior Boys Basketball

On Monday the 22nd Oct the Senior Boys basketball team played against St Finian’s College in Mullingar. The Mullingar side proved too strong and the game ended with a win for Finian’s College. The team put in an excellent effort and great skills were demonstrated by all throughout the game.


U14 Boys Gaelic Football

After a disappointing loss to Castlepollard last Thursday our U14 boys played Killucan this week. After a battle of a game, heavy with injuries, Ardscoil Phadraig lost by one point after leading for the game. The boys put up a great fight and some will be key players in the U16 panel this year.


Junior Girls Football

Congratulations to Ardscoil Phadraig Junior Girls Football team who have qualified to the next stage of the regional competition. Well done to all. The next stage commences in November.


T.Y. Trip

TY Students took part in Ardagh Fright Fest 2018 as part of their photography module with Shelley Corcoran. This is a module that students always thoroughly enjoy.





2nd Year Baking Competition

Today the 2nd Year Home Economics students had a Halloween themed baking competition. Well done to the students on the huge effort they put in.

3rd Prize Ryan Reilly and Tara Spollen.

Highly commended Shannen D’Arcy and Katelyn Farrell.

Lus na Greine Art Class

The First Year Art Class in Lus na Greine, Granard participated in the Annual Poverty Awareness Day on Tuesday 16th October. This years theme was “Leave no one out”. The students painted stones with images of faces and positive affirmations written on them. Their take on the theme was “Leave no one out, Leave no stone unturned”. A big thank you to Eileen, Pauline Irene and all the staff at Lus na Greine for a fantastic morning of fun and food where we were made very welcome and we hope to make a return visit soon. A big thank you for the fab T shirts too!!!
