Leaving Cert Educational Trips

A busy and enjoyable week for our Leaving Certificate students. On Wednesday our Biology and Agricultural Science classes travelled to Causey Farm to complete their ecology field trip while many of our students also attended the Higher Options Careers event at the RDS last Friday. Many thanks to Ms. Magan, Mr. Domican, Mr. Gerety, Ms. Doyle and Mr. O’Brien for facilitating the trips and to our Leaving Certificate students for being such great ambassadors for our school throughout.

Senior Ladies Football

Our senior ladies team played Ballymahon vocational school last Monday in Ballymahon.  The girls put in a great performance and were extremely unlucky to lose by a goal. Our under 16 girls are in action against Ballymahon this Friday; we wish them the best of luck.

1st and 2nd Year Boys Football

Well done to the first year boys who recently participated in the Longford schools 7 a side blitz. There were some fine individual performances on the day. Training continues every Tuesday. Best of luck to the 2nd year boys team who start their Leinster campaign next Thursday with an away game against Lanesboro.

Ardscoil Phadraig Parkrun is taking place again this year. The LCA students are doing it as part of their General Ed. Task. There was a great turnout from staff and students last year and everyone had a great day. This year the Parkrun will take place on Saturday the 23rd of November @9.30am in the Mall Sports Complex, Longford.

Panto Auditions

The preparations for this year’s Ardscoil Phadraig Christmas Panto are well underway. Auditions have begun this week and there is a great buzz of excitement in the air with the anticipation of who will nab the leading roles. Huge thank you to Mr. Byrne for organising the event again this year, watch this space for more info to follow!

Academic Excellence Awards

Huge congratulations to Eimear Corcoran and Dylan Kiernan who were presented with Academic Excellence Awards by LWETB recently in recognition of their fantastic Leaving Certificate results. Eimear is currently studying towards a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Maynooth University while Dylan has undertaken a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in GMIT. We wish Eimear, Dylan and all of our 2019 Leaving Certificate students continues success as they progress through the next stage of their educational journey.
