Aisling Children’s Art Festival in Conjunction with the Longford Leader

Last Wednesday Mr Gerety accompanied Transition Year students from Ardscoil Phadraig to the Longford Leader to assist in the creation of the supplement for the Aisling Children’s Art Festival. Ben Cregan, Catherine Matthews, Sophie Flynn and Paddy Mulligan went into the Longford Leader and brought back all the new information to the rest of their classmates to begin work which is due in a month’s time. Good luck with your writing everyone!

6th Year Biology and Ag. Science Field Trip

This Wednesday the Leaving Certificate Biology and Agricultural Science classes went to Causey Farm in County Meath for their ecology trip. We would like to thank Ms. Magan and Mr. Domican for accompanying the students.

Senior Boys Basketball

Our senior boys’ basketball team took to the court this week to begin training for this year’s basketball season starting 2nd October. Any other students who would like to join please contact Ms. Brennan or Ms. Reilly.

Wellbeing Wednesdays

Ms. Gilhooley has organised a new Wellbeing Wednesday session at lunchtimes. This allows students to practise relaxation techniques and to take some time out from the busy school day. It began last week and this week we had twenty students taking part. This is a lovely initiative for the promotion of mental health and wellbeing in Ardscoil Phadraig. Anyone who wants to join please contact Ms. Gilhooley.

Pupil Voice Representatives 2019-2020

Pupil Voice Representatives

Congratulations to all students who were announced by Mr. Byrne as Class Representatives on this year’s Pupil Voice Committee. We have no doubt that Chloe Spollen, Erin Louise Flynn, Kathlyn McGuire, Jessica Flynn, Zoe Columb, Katelyn Farrell, Shane Gettings, Tara Fagan, James McCormack, Sinéad Reilly, Matthew Monaghan, Sean Larkin, Kaitlyn Corcoran and Tommie Cunningham will be excellent representatives for their classmates throughout the coming year.

Higher Options

Our Leaving Certificate students will travel to the Irish Times Higher Options Conference in the RDS on Friday 20th September. This is always a very successful and beneficial day out as speakers at the career talk sessions shared their experience and expertise in various fields of industry, encouraging our students to look at the many different career options available to them.

First Year Retreat

First year students welcomed Michelle from An Tobar Nua to the school to facilitate a retreat last week. This was a very enjoyable experience which explored themes such as friendship, resilience and positive mental health through the use of games, music and more. We look forward to welcoming Michelle back throughout the year.

Junior Certificate Results

Our Junior Certificate students from last year are eagerly awaiting their results which will be released on October 4th. We have no doubt that they have done extremely well and we wish them the very best of luck.
